One of my beautiful friends Rebecca has worn wrap dresses for years and always looked fabulous in them. For some reason I never really thought they would suit me until I saw a vintage Morrison brown wrap dress in a vintage market and decided to give it a go. As soon as I put it on it made my upper body, waist and chest area look awesome. I’m always really aware of my hips and I was also happy to see I didn’t look ridiculous in my less favoured area. I wore the dress to work last week and received lots of nice compliments on it.
Rebecca and I in Singapore, and she's wearing another awesome wrap dress! |
So, I decided to get another one. And today I am rocking a vintage navy patterned wrap dress from UK designer Coast that I found online in the UK. I paired it with a long slim grey cardigan from the Witchery At Home collection and then threw in some lilac heels from office (also second hand) and my bag of the moment a bright blue leather Zara bag that I picked up in the UK. All in all an outfit I am pretty happy with. (Apologies for the lack of photo I'll add one later).
I decided to have a look around online and investigate this fine style of dress and it really does flatter every single size. So if you are a plus size there is no better way t show off your assets (boobs and waist) and if you are think or boyish, there is no better way to create some curves.
So – all hail the wrap dress. I’m now on the hunt for a selection for Chevali. Problem is I keep keeping them all when I find them...........
