I was reading one of my favourite blogs yesterday (MyFDBlog) and one of the posts was about 'Is orange the new black'. It made me think about the orange items that I have stocked up on of late, and whilst it isn't the new black for me (I think that might be grey) it is very dominant in my wardrobe.
So according to Pantone the colour of the year is Tangerine Tango, and lots of bloggers in the fashion space agree. I only need to type in Tangerine Tango in Google and I get a wealth of fashion mood boards dedicated to the colour.
Like this one for example from fashionable.gr. I love everything about this.
I just love those shoes! The only piece of orange I had in my wardrobe up until 6 months ago was a pair of hot orange Alex & Alex Nico pumps, so fab with denim. But since then I have stocked up,(and I'm still going) from that hat, gloves and scarf from Topshop (Sale bargains) to the skirt below from Sussan, to the striped orange jumper I got from Sportsgirl 2 weeks ago, to the bright orange earrings I got in Witchery. Oh yes Orange is on my radar.
I think I like orange best when it is just a suggestion. I love this outfit created by 'justgatheringthoughts.wordpress.com'. Jeans and boots are a staple of mine for winter and this outfit is me to a T. Considering my new black is probably grey, I love how this is working together.
Or what about this set by The Vivienne Files out of Ireland. How to mix in beige and more neutral colours with orange. Some beautiful pieces here.
And lets not forget orange on the red carpet. This is the perfect excuse to put in this photo of UK TV presenter Fearne Cotton wearing my top pick from the BAFTAS, a stunning orange Moschino dress.
And lastly ladies, lets not forget orange vintage! Here are 3 beautiful dresses that I am currently selling at Chevali; (in order) Zimmermann, Diane Von Furstenburg and Zimmermann. Click here to view them in all of their glory. Chevali Vintage
