Television shows have always had an influence on fashion, but in recent years none have been more prevalent than shows like Madmen. However it’s time to make room for the twenties now as shows like HBO’s Boardwalk Empire and dare I even say it, Underbelly Razor bring the roaring twenties fashion back to the forefront. Get ready to start seeing variations on the theme soon on the high street.
If you want a true vintage feel to your look start having a look at markets and charity shops for accessories that fit the look. A lot of Op shops excel in accessories and its the area most people tend to miss. Pick up some fabulous beads, a clutch and bangles. Just don’t get a beauty spot, that’s not a good look!
We like the look so much we are thinking of throwing a Boardwalk Empire or Prohibition party for New Years Eve this year. There are lots of ways to make this work, and there are a few examples above on what type of products to look for. I expect to see lots of glamorous ladies soon.
