So whilst the rest of the fashion world goes pastel and floral crazy as they enter spring, what about us here on the other side of the world? What is hot for Autumn and what colours should you be stocking up on. Well as you may have seen in many shop windows, traditional autumn colours are working hard this year across a variety of textures and fabrics. Below are a few things I like for this Autumn, its not all of them, but just a few to spice up your wardrobe.
The biggest colour for me is orange. I simply love orange ever since I wore a pair of bright orange heels by Alex & Alex. I recently took advantage of the Topshop.com sale and stocked up on an orange beanie, scarf and gloves all for the equivalent cost of $20, just to update my wardrobe. Accessories are such a great way to get ready for Autumn without spending too much money. Orange is still hot on the catwalk too.

Texture is going to be big too. Whether its fur, fake fur or roughed up animal print, its easy to add a splash of this to your wardrobe. Think of a fur Gilet. You can get these in stores like Topshop, Mng and Sportsgirl. For higher quality obviously Witchery, Trenery and Country Road have similar looks.

Mustard is going to be huge. Cue, Review and Sportsgirl are all going nuts for mustard at the moment. Try to get your hands on a mustard pair of jeans or even a wool coat. The celebs are all embracing it. Make sure you match it with plane items like white grey or black. Don’t go colour overboard.

Brown is still hot for autumn. Not everyone can wear it and you have to beware the brown overload, but some brown knitwear, blazers and knee high boots, along with satchels and other leather bags work great. If you get the tone right a brown leather jacket can work wonders for a plain outfit.

Lastly, don’t be afraid to try leather. No longer is leather seen as something old rock stars wear or only Elle can get away with. There are some fabulous leather skirts on the high street that are the highest quality and very flattering. Don’t forget leather items are really easy to find in vintage stores and a few simple tailoring adjustments can make them your own.
