It was my birthday last month and I had a decent chunk of money to spend, I had arranged with husband to take over parenting duties whilst I went to the consumer shopping mecca Chadstone in Melbourne with the intention of shopping up a storm. On arrival I got my coffee (decaf of course - yawn) and headed in. As soon as I got through the doors Seed Baby started talking to me. So in I go, and I start looking at all the beautiful clothing for a 6 month old girl. WAIT - I'm supposed to be shopping for me!!
I swiftly left the shop and headed into Myer. I didn't fair much better there. After stocking up on Benefit cosmetics there wasn't much I liked in the ladies fashion area and somehow in a trance I found myself in the baby wear department where Baby Chevali got a dress and some tops....with my vouchers!!!
And its not surprising, the clothes these days for babies are stunning. I'd like some grown up versions please!
Stunning cardigan from Seed Baby that I would wear! |
Can Baby Gap make this in adult size please? |
Pure Baby heaven |
But it wasn't all bad, I can't complain because I have of late been power shopping for myself a lot. Its just a different kind of shopping. Nipping out for milk? Yep I can do a Country Road whip around in 15minutes. Buying something from the pharmacy? Yep I managed to get some great tops in Witchery.

I've also now got more time to go back to the vintage hunter that I am at heart and lately I have had some serious scores, especially with shoes. In fact I've had quite a few wins in that area all round!
The back row fab vintage finds, the front row new shoes with sensible heels! |
Particularly excited about these as they have a heel that I can carry baby Chevali in! |
Now - my biggest problem is when to wear them and how do I breast feed in them?? For now I get to stare at them lovingly knowing that they will come out to play very soon.
