The Great Gatsby is coming!

I feel a trend coming on. There is a buzz of excitement coming from the shoot of the remake of The Great Gatsby in Sydney and its already spilling into the press. The styling looks to die for. But lets not forget the original. In 1974 Mia Farrow and the gorgeous Robert Redford starred in Coppola’s version of the book. This lavish Hollywood production won 2 Oscars and spawned a hybrid 20’s/70’s fashion trend.  Mainly thanks to Ralph Lauren who not only styled The original GG but also went on to style Annie Hall, another fabulously stylish film from the 1970’s.

There are a few photographs released from the set of the 2012 film with Carey Mulligan, Leo Dicaprio and Aussie Joel Edgerton and considering its director Baz Luhrman its bound to be a lavish affair.

There are already catwalk inspired collections happening and I for one cannot wait to get involved! Think feathers, drop waists, flowing cream and neutral dresses. Lots of movement in the fabric, little caps, hair pieces and boots!

Thanks to Snarkys machine and On fashion for the photos!
