Viva Rene Russo

Its apparent I am a massive fan of movies and the other day I was remember how much I loved not only the original but more recently, the remake of The Thomas Crown Affair. I must admit I love sexy films with fabulous styling that draw me in, and Pierce Brosnan helps too.

But the real reason I love the remake so much is because of Rene Russo. I wanted to be her when this film came out. Her fabulous red thick hair and a wardrobe to die for all by Michael Kors. This film may be from 1999 but look at the strong silhouettes and tailoring that would not look amiss on today’s catwalks. I remember at the time that there was a big discussion in Hollywood as to how Rene Russo in her early 40’s then was too old for this role! What an outrage.

She changed the dynamic there and then proving that you don’t have to be 25 and blonde. Rene Russo (like Faye Dunaway before her) brought sass and style to that role that a younger woman could not have done.

So if you want to have a look at how to work strong silhouettes, minimalism and tonal colours, with a few furs and knits thrown in, have a look at a showcase I found below on the web. Could I love the knee high boots, the cashmere and leather fabrics more? A lot of people have said they hate the see through dress, well I even like that. If you have got the body to wear it do it.
Rene Russo will always be one of my style heroes because of this film.
