So its almost February and my good intentions of discussing style for 2012 before Christmas, got sidetracked by the beach, wine family and friends. So I've finally sat back and had a good hard long look at what has been going on on the runways around the world and in store and put together a short list of what I think will be hot fashion-wise in 2012. I could have gone on forever as there are so many beautiful items coming our way this year, but I've chosen the top five that people who aren't models or buy haute couture can get involved in!
1. Florals
Florals are everywhere at the moment, from gorgeous dresses to silk shirts and skirts, not to mention shoes. Florals will not just be on the high street in pretty pastels but expect bold colours like we saw below at the Diane Von Furstenberg spring show.

ASOS floral shoes (one of my most recent purchases) |
I've seen a few shows borrowing from the beautiful and individual Hawaiian print. As we go into European summer I think we are going to see much more of this.
3. The tea dress (In fact dresses in general)
I know I have been banging on about the tea dress for a while now, but more and more stores are selling them and the dress itself becomes more accepted as day wear to work and at home. Expect to see even more love for the tea dress in 2012, and I welcome it.

Forget the bright colour blocking that's so 2011. This year the pastels are back. Trade your bright red jeans for some pink and lilac ones and start mixing up the colours!

Boardwalk Empire, Underbelly, Mildred Pierce and the Great Gatsby remake when it comes out are all responsible for the 1920s glamour revival. Expect to see more of this on the high street with a luxe feel and in gorgeous champagnes and neutrals.
Other things to look out for in 2012, smart masculine tailoring (think Annie Hall), the maxi skirt evolving, drop waisted dresses and skirts, the rise of the tulip skirt and vintage. Vintage will never go out of fashion. Take a look at the fabulous new stock we currently have instore at CHEVALI
