The last pair of flats you should own is a tan pair. Tan is a colour that is so versatile. They look great with everything. So how do you work flats with dresses? Again avoid no-mans land, it's a bad place to be. I've chosen a shorter look here with the hot florals for this season (Spring or Autumn depending on where you are).
The ladylike look is also really hot right now, so once you have found a dress that pulls you in at the waist, get a contrasting cardigan to bring out the colour and then match with fabulous sunglasses and a tan bag.
Belted cardigans really work well with flats as they create shape but also the illusion of a thin column in the middle. You should wear them half open to create that long line down the middle of the front of your outfit, cleverly concealing the bits you want to hide.
This look will also work with a more madmen and pencil style of dress. Have fun trying it out.
